ESL's Major DotA Series V is ready to continue in the playoffs stage, with four teams hoping to progress in the tournament at the expense of their opponents.

DotA fans can expect to be treated to an exciting bout of action this weekend as ESL's tournament for DotA resumes in the playoffs. Besides the stand-out European DotA Championship game happening this weekend between Europe MYM and SGC which can be found in other news, the ESL Major Series Season V has three intense games installed for the community for the next two following days.

Infernal.Gamers

Two largely unknown quantities in Germany Team Thermaltake and Infernal.Gamers take on each other in what many would presume to be an unpredictable match, given the fact that both teams are mostly unheard of in the community. The germans have not been on their best form recently, losing to PokerIdol and Blight Gaming in their last two matches in the scene. They will be looking to set things right with a convincing win over this newly emerged team in Infernal.Gamers.

Lyngby Luckers

There is no doubt that when they are in form, Germany dmZ are great to watch and one of the finest teams to grace the scene. With an impressive roster containing stalwarts such as Germany rmN and Germany Kebap, the dmZ team possesses some of the top talents in world DotA today. Lyngby Luckers are another unknown team, but will be looking to replicate the form of their stronger counterparts in Denmark to upset the odds against the germans on their turf.

Sweden DIPSARNA

Germany GaB.BallerPoker.de

Team Sweden DIPS are undoubtedly the surprise package so far, having put in strong performances against the likes of top teams such as Ukraine DTS.Chatrix, beating them on one occasion and forcing them to a standstill on the other. However, they lack a measure of consistency and should seek to exert themselves on Germany GaB. Once again, GaB are another unknown team but they managed to progress to the next round thanks to teams in their group dropping out at the eleventh hour, and will look to beat the swedes hands down to continue their hot streak in the tournament.

Australia MCiTY

Although both partake in Farm4Fame, the two have not met in a league since the DotA Pride tournament in November, where MCiTY took the crown. Since their last meeting, however, both dmZ and MCiTY have made revisions to their roster. Will the roster modifications made since their last match change the outcome of the game?

Europe Tribal.Int

Being one of the first matches since the MYM PriDe tournaments in October '08 where an Asian and European team met online, this match has stirred up a great deal of attention. Tribal.Int and XtC have never met in an online or offline event, so this match will prove to be quite exciting!
